Fingerboards Project secures investment
Kalbar has welcomed the announcement from Appian Capital Advisory LLP, a long-term value focused private equity fund that invests solely in mining and mining-related companies.
Appian has announced its investment in Kalbar – a $144 million commitment to take the Fingerboards Project, if approved, into construction and operation.
The investment will deliver significant economic benefits to the East Gippsland region which will be a welcome injection following the impacts from drought, bushfires and COVID-19.
The media release issued by Appian on 29 June 2020 can be found here and Kalbar’s media release can be found here.
Follow up to EES Key Findings webinar
The Kalbar team would like to thank everyone who participated in the EES Key Findings webinar last Thursday 25 June 2020.
We had more than 85 participants and we have received a great deal of positive feedback from interested community members, business and government representatives who took part. More than 60 questions were submitted prior to the webinar along with many during the session.
The webinar was recorded and will be uploaded to the Fingerboards website on Monday 6 July 2020. Questions that were received prior to, and during the webinar, will also be posted, with answers, on the Fingerboards website at the same time.
Expressions of interest to receive alternate copies of EES documentation
We would like to thank everyone who has submitted their Expression of Interest in receiving a copy of the EES documentation in an alternate format. The options included receiving the EES uploaded to a USB; uploaded to a laptop for hire; or hard copies of the EES Report, or a hard copy of the EES Report together with all the Technical Studies.
We are yet to receive a determination by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) on the costs for hard copies of EES documentation and we will advise those members of the community who have requested hard copies directly once we have been notified of the printing costs by DELWP.
Flyover animation now has a voice
In recent weeks we have been working to improve the Project Flyover Animation that appears on the Fingerboards Project website. This project is now complete and we have uploaded the “voiced flyover animation” to the website. We encourage everyone to view the animation to gain an understanding of the proposed Fingerboards mineral sands mine – it can be viewed here https://www.fingerboardsproject.com.au/about-the-project - scroll down the page.
